Managing Partner: Actuarial

Karabo More is the Managing Partner for Actuarial at The Shard and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA). He has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with deep expertise in life insurance, actuarial modelling, financial reporting, audit and capital management.

Karabo has led a number of complex actuarial initiatives, including IFRS 17 implementation programmes, financial reporting frameworks, and actuarial model development across multiple African markets. He advises insurers on profitability analysis, solvency management, embedded value reporting, and strategic business planning.

He also has significant experience in independent actuarial reviews and audits, including Head of Actuarial Function reviews, ORSA reviews aligned to GOI 3 standards, actuarial valuation audits, and reviews of IFRS 17 implementation and SAM regulatory compliance.

At The Shard, Karabo leads the actuarial consulting practice, advising insurers and financial institutions on complex actuarial and financial challenges. He works closely with executive teams and boards to deliver insights that support strategic decision-making, risk management, and long-term value creation.
