Oupa leads the Risk Assurance and Advisory Services practice at The Shard, bringing over 25 years of professional experience in enterprise and operational risk management, corporate governance, and executive leadership. His expertise spans the implementation of integrated risk management (IRM) solutions.

He has held senior leadership roles as Head of Function for both risk management and internal audit, with extensive experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide risk and compliance strategies. This includes the preparation of annual risk and compliance plans, as well as quarterly reporting to Risk and Audit Committees.

Oupa is a recognised thought leader, speaker, and author on the effective use of risk management practices and enabling technologies across large and mid-sized organisations. His work focuses on strengthening governance, enhancing decision-making, and embedding sustainable risk practices.

With deep expertise in business continuity and organisational resilience, Oupa has led cross-functional initiatives to design and implement resilience strategies, crisis management frameworks, and continuity training programmes. His experience includes crisis communication, mass notification systems, and stakeholder engagement.

As a consultant and facilitator, he has guided organisations across multiple industries in strategy development, risk assessments, combined assurance, and data analytics implementation. He brings over 15 years of experience facilitating impactful workshops that support informed decision-making and effective programme delivery.

Oupa is also actively involved in advancing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices, supporting organisations in integrating sustainability considerations into their risk and governance frameworks.
