Chief Executive
Smangaliso Mkhabela has been the Chief Executive of The Shard since its founding in September 2013. The Shard was founded to offer the financial services industry the unique combination of skills that actuaries, auditors and accountants possess for the effective management of the control environment.
He has more than thirteen years' experience ranging from traditional actuarial work in employee benefits, life Insurance, internal audit and data analytics. Smangaliso holds a BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science from the University of Pretoria and is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) and a Fellow of The Actuarial Society of Kenya.
Under his leadership The Shard has evolved into a company offering diversified business solutions across multiple industries aimed at meeting the needs of our clients and delivering value.
Smangaliso is also an independent director at Aurora Insurance company.
